Arsenal YouTubers react to a 2-1 win at Slavia Prague

Arsenal won 2-1 at Slavia Prague on Wednesday night, and the Gooner rooms woke up arguing about the half that mattered less on the scoreboard. Noni Madueke scored after nine minutes, Viktor Gyökeres added a curl before the break, and Wiktor Nowak pulled one back in the 90th. Ten points from four Champions League games. Ten unbeaten away in the competition, a club first. Six fan YouTubers watched it so you don't have to.

Viktor Gyökeres and the match winner

Down Under Gooner Matchday did not mess about. Gyökeres was "completely deserving the man of the match award as he was the ultimate match winner for us." Hold-up for Madueke's opener, the one-touch that started his own goal, the finish curled past Domchak. "His hold up play was instrumental all night long," and the outlet dried up once he went off. He also put a number under the scare. Slavia's 2.11 xG in the second half was the most any side has managed in a single half against Arsenal since 2023/24, and their 17 second-half shots matched the most Mikel Arteta's side have faced in one Champions League half. The points stayed. The viewing did not.

Noni Madueke and Glen Kightley's ratings

Glen Kightley Everything Arsenal went player by player and kept landing on the same two names. Madueke got an eight: "good finish to give us the lead and it's good for his confidence." Still the only Arsenal forward who looked like scoring after the break. Gyökeres was an eight edging to nine, "man of the match for sure," with Merino credited for "a very good assist" on the second. Glen's wider worry was the calendar. White and Timber both fit is a gift with Hull, Newcastle, Dortmund, City and Real Madrid stacked up.

AFTV and the first-half confidence

AFTV sat Lee and Robbie down for the ratings and spent most of the first half sounding like a side that has got used to controlling away nights in Europe. Madueke was "excellent today. Eight out of 10. Took his goal brilliantly." Gyökeres went higher: "nine out of 10 man of the match. Give him his flowers today." Raya had nothing before the break, then scooped Kubiak's effort off the line using the post. Robbie's line on the keeper was blunt: "I think he's the best goalkeeper in Europe right now."

2Halves1Ball and the second-half switch

2Halves1Ball loved the opener and hated the sequel. "First half, it was absolutely brilliant," he said, Arsenal having "never left gear 2." Madueke through the keeper's legs after Gyökeres' hold-up; Gyökeres one-on-one after the Merino link. Then the substitutes arrived and the shape went soft. "Once the subs started coming on, the game started changing." Spaces opened. Slavia played. Arsenal survived. Credit still went to Arteta's rotation from Sunday at Anfield, a better shift than Fleetwood, but the close was a different match.

Waffle Don and Europe's weirdest Arsenal

Waffle Don watched half of it with one eye open and still found the thesis. "Arsenal a really strange strange sight." Madueke's opener and Gyökeres' finish had him ready for a "rampage." Then intensity dropped, Slavia picked it up, and Raya was "flapping at corners." The question he left on the table is the one the other rooms kept circling: "What kind of side do we want to be? Do we want to be an Arsenal moment side or do we want to be a side that dominates Europe and dominates teams and looks like other teams fear us?" His read on the hosts was colder. "Slavia didn't look like they feared us."

CalumTalksAFC, Declan Rice and the points

CalumTalksAFC called the second half "such an unprofessional second half" and put most of the blame on the bench. "Declan Rice playing the full 90 minutes is an absolute disgrace." Down Under Gooner had already flagged the same over-reliance; Waffle Don asked why Rice is still doing full nineties with options available. Calum still took the three points. Third in the league phase, three of four games away, another midweek ticked off before Hull. The rooms agree on the facts: Madueke and Gyökeres won it before the break, Nowak made it ugly late, and Arteta's second-half management is the argument that travels to Saturday. Ten points will do. Comfortable it was not.
