Arsenal drew 2-2 with Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday night, and the fan YouTubers can't quite agree whether that's a point won or two thrown away. Eberechi Eze, on for the injured Bukayo Saka after ten minutes, scored first from Martin Ødegaard's pass. Alphonso Davies levelled from a Harry Kane through-ball, Kane put Bayern ahead from the spot after Jurriën Timber handled, and Declan Rice equalised in the 82nd minute after Viktor Gyökeres laid it off.
Arsenal stay unbeaten in the league phase. Bayern were missing Michael Olise through suspension and Joshua Kimmich after a death in his family, and at least one of their rooms says it feels like a loss. And everyone has a view on Kai Havertz.
Eze's night, and Saka's thigh
TroopzTV went into this with "serious PTSD" from Munich and came out calling Eze his man of the match. Eze was "arguably the worst player on the pitch" against Forest, he says, and on Wednesday "I thought I was watching Crystal Palace Eze." The worry is Saka, who went down untouched holding his thigh. Arteta said afterwards it "doesn't look good at all", and Troopz has already ruled him out of Saturday's game against Everton.
The AFTV panel called it "a point gained" and then noticed the oddity: "We win games and... Arsenal fans are disappointed. And then we draw games, but they're happy." They split on Ødegaard. One of them "didn't really see a captain's performance", and thought Rice showed "why he should be our captain". They also think Eze is a number 10 or a left-sided eight who's still learning the wing.
Rice, Raya and the case for Gyökeres
The Gunners Den gives Rice an 8.5 and man of the match, and wishes more people talked about him and fewer about Kane, who "only ever scores penalties against us". Timber gets a 5, "and I feel that could be generous". The verdict: "a much worse result for Bayern Munich than it is Arsenal."
Glen Kightley Everything Arsenal goes further on the goalkeeper. David Raya gets a 9 for two point-blank saves, and Glen calls him "the best goalkeeper in the world". Rice gets a 9 too: "He would have gotten an eight without the goal."
Then there's Havertz. Troopz says Arteta keeps giving him chances: "The rope is endless." He wants Gyökeres, who came on and set up the equaliser, starting instead. The Gunners Den agree: "Kai Havertz, I'm not convinced by him whatsoever."
NorthsideLDN impressed, for once
NorthsideLDN admits he was scared going in after Brighton, Leeds and Forest, and calls this "probably one of our best performances so far this season". He even calls it "probably my most positive match reaction in a very long time". He's still not convinced, though. He thinks the attack isn't good enough to win the Champions League, and that the midfield kept bombing forward and left the defence exposed on the break.
The Bayern View: "It kind of feels like a loss"
The home end isn't happy. The Bayern View starts by sending condolences to Kimmich's family, then goes after Josip Stanišić for playing Eze onside: "Go work at a circus, bro." He says the penalty was "definitely a penalty", and is still annoyed that Kim Min-jae came off at half-time. "It kind of feels like a loss."
The argument: point won, or Havertz problem?
Most of the Arsenal rooms would have taken a draw in Munich before kick-off, and they're mostly happy with it afterwards. What's left is a selection argument. Eze has made a case for the left wing, Gyökeres has made a case for the starting XI, and Havertz is about to lose another one. Everton are next, and Saka probably won't be there.
