Liverpool and Arsenal YouTubers preview Sunday at Anfield

One side has a feel-good factor and a selection headache. The other has Fleetwood, a three-match ban and a 14-year wait.

Liverpool and Arsenal YouTubers preview Sunday at Anfield

Liverpool host Arsenal in the Premier League at Anfield on Sunday at 4.30pm GMT, and the fan YouTubers on both sides have had very different weeks. Liverpool knocked Chelsea out of the Carabao Cup on penalties on Wednesday. Arsenal, the champions, were knocked out by League Two Fleetwood on Tuesday. One set of rooms is talking about momentum. The other is talking about a 14-year wait.

The team news hasn't helped the away end. On Thursday the FA rejected Arsenal's appeal against Max Dowman's red card at Fleetwood, so the 16-year-old serves a three-match ban that starts at Anfield. Bukayo Saka is already out injured. Andoni Iraola holds his pre-match press conference on Friday.

Arsenal's rooms: Fleetwood first, Anfield second

TyrellgunnerTV went live with a Liverpool fan, Jay, and didn't pretend to be cheerful. "The confidence is low in this Arsenal team right now," Tyrell says. "I need a proper reaction from the boys, man, on Sunday." Jay, meanwhile, is polite in the way only a man whose team has just won a shootout can be. His call: "I'm going for a 2-1 win for Liverpool." His one worry is his own defence: "We can't keep clean sheets at home."

Over at AFTV, the Fourever Arsenal panel were at Fleetwood and still look like they've just got home. One of them calls it "the second biggest embarrassment" in the club's history. Then someone reminds the room that Arsenal are "joint top of the league", and the mood briefly lifts. When the first prediction in is "2-1 Arsenal", the studio calls the man who made it "a disgrace", which is about as warm as AFTV gets this week.

DeludedGooner has the same complaint, just louder. Fleetwood was "not the result when you're facing Anfield," one panellist says, at a ground where Arsenal "just haven't won" in the league for 14 years. The bigger gripe is the attack: "It's still predictable in attack. It still goes in and then comes out again."

Arsenal at Anfield: the 2012 problem

Waffle Don has decided the best way to prepare for Sunday is to go back to 2 September 2012. That day Lukas Podolski and Santi Cazorla scored in a 2-0 win, and Mikel Arteta was in the Arsenal midfield. "It's been 14 years, 14 long hard years," he says, before admitting he isn't sure it can be repeated. He ends on a brave note anyway: "We have all the ingredients to beat this Liverpool team."

Liverpool's rooms: momentum and a selection headache

At TheRedmenTV, the mood is noticeably calmer. "There's definitely a feel-good factor," one host says. Neither of them is claiming it's vintage stuff. "They're getting the job done," the other says, and he credits Andoni Iraola with "a steely determination there in the group which wasn't there last year."

AnfieldAgenda has a selection question rather than a mood. Connor rates Trey Nyoni the standout against Chelsea and Ryan Gravenberch "fairly terrible", so he asks it straight out: "Should Trey be starting against Arsenal on Sunday?" He also wonders whether Nyoni has now gone ahead of Gravenberch in the pecking order. It's a nice problem to have the week the champions come to town.

The argument: Liverpool v Arsenal, form or table?

Jay's 2-1 is the boldest call from the Liverpool side. On the Arsenal side, the AFTV panel is split, with predictions running from a 2-1 Arsenal win to 2-0 Liverpool. The rest of the Arsenal rooms are hedging, and their best argument is the league table rather than anything they saw on Tuesday.

That's the argument for Sunday. Liverpool's channels think the form guide matters. Arsenal's are hoping the table matters more. If it goes wrong, the Arsenal rooms will be back to talking about 2012. If it goes right, Fleetwood gets forgotten fast.
