Liverpool YouTubers react to a 4-3 win over Villarreal

Two down inside half an hour, four goals in the next 40 minutes. Rio Ngumoha runs the show, Van Dijk would rather forget it, and nobody is calming down.

Liverpool YouTubers react to a 4-3 win over Villarreal

Liverpool beat Villarreal 4-3 in the Champions League at Anfield on Tuesday night after trailing 2-0 inside half an hour. Liverpool recovered through two Alexis Mac Allister goals, Ronald Araujo and Florian Wirtz to beat Villarreal and make it three wins from three in this season's Champions League, and the fan YouTubers had a lot to get off their chests.

Georges Mikautadze scored in the fourth minute after Virgil van Dijk's header back to Alisson fell short, and Sergi Cardona doubled it on 29. Mac Allister headed in a Kostas Tsimikas corner, Araujo nodded in Rio Ngumoha's cross in stoppage time of the first half, then Mac Allister and Wirtz scored three minutes apart after the break. Tani Oluwaseyi's late goal made the last few minutes tense. Ngumoha, 18, set up two of the goals and was voted the club's Player of the Match.

Rio Ngumoha gets a winger's dream night

Callum at Team Kopish reckons Cardona got the worst seat in the house. "Rio victimized this left back," he says, and he tells it like a wildlife documentary that wandered into a Champions League game. He makes Ngumoha his man of the match.

Outside the ground with TheKopTV, the fan cam ran out of adjectives before it ran out of battery. "I don't think there's enough words in the English dictionary to describe that performance because he was brilliant," one of the lads says. "Easy, easy, man of the match." They also find room for Mac Allister: "He's easily been Liverpool's best midfielder this season."

Virgil van Dijk has a night he'd rather skip

The captain's header set the tone, and Adikastakes doesn't wrap it up nicely. "Van Dijk, I have to tell you very honestly, that is the worst performance I've seen of you in a Liverpool shirt," he says, then offers a group amnesty: "all of us should just pretend like that performance never happened." He's just as blunt about the result. "I'm not happy with the performance. I'm very happy with the three points." On the teenager he's simpler still: "Give that guy his contract ASAP."

It's a fair complaint. Liverpool have now conceded three in each of their last two Champions League games and won both, which is a bold way to run a defence.

Florian Wirtz arrives at half-time and changes the mood

Tom Little loved the comeback and hated the route there. "That was unnecessarily, needlessly difficult," he opens, before praising what he calls "a really, really, really good performance from minute 31 to about minute 80." He saves his strongest line for the half-time sub, who he says "played today with an arrogance about him", and he means it as a compliment. Wirtz scored his first club goal of the season, which should quieten a few group chats.

The argument: a thriller to enjoy or a warning to heed?

Here the rooms split. Craig at AnfieldAgenda lands in the middle with the full-time whistle still ringing: "it wasn't vintage, but it was enjoyable." Adikastakes is firmly on the warning side, and Team Kopish's Callum calls the defending a "Horror show" while giving the team credit for the fight: "There's dogs back in the system now."

So it's nine points from nine in Europe, two sets of three conceded, and an 18-year-old so good the Anfield DJ reportedly reached for Duran Duran's Rio at full time. Nobody's promising a quiet one next.
