Manchester United and Aston Villa YouTubers preview Sunday at Old Trafford

Roma bought United a night. Villa decide whether Carrick keeps the international break. Six rooms on either side of Sunday at Old Trafford.

Manchester United and Aston Villa YouTubers preview Sunday at Old Trafford

Manchester United host Aston Villa at Old Trafford on Sunday at 16:30 GMT, the last Premier League game before the international break. United are 17th with one league win from nine and winless in their last seven, but midweek they came from 2-0 down to beat Roma 3-2. Villa arrive unbeaten in five league games before a 3-0 loss at Barcelona. Six fan YouTubers watched the buildup so you don't have to.

Saeed TV: one win, one more test

Saeed TV sounded like a man out of the desert. "I've been starving out here, man. Since September, we ain't won a game, bro. We're in November, people." Roma fed him. Sunday's thumbnail still asks if it is "Carrick's final game for Man United." His own call is softer. "If he gets a decent result against Villa, like I'm talking about a draw. I think he keeps his job, mate." Second half against Roma, in his telling, was a gift taken: "Roma just sat back. I think they thought the game was done at 2-0." Old Trafford was loud enough that all he heard was "Glazers out and back in for Carrick."

The United Stand: lose and Roma is forgotten

The United Stand kept the binary clean. "I think if you lose on Sunday, I think it's the Roma game's forgotten about and then you look all of a sudden you're going into an international break probably in the bottom three." A win reframes the fortnight. "If you win on Sunday that Villa game then you look at it and think do you know what that was massive for the season." Anything less and "all eyes are going to be on the board." Midweek champagne stays corked until the table stops looking like a hospital chart.

The Man United Agenda: hangover into Emery

The Man United Agenda were still on the comeback when the fixture list landed. "We're just still getting over the highs of the Champions League win which felt really good coming back from 2-0 down... but it's going to be tough... it's not going to be easy at all." One of them briefly forgot they were at home. Emery's Old Trafford record got a respectful nod once the geography was settled. Nicolas Jackson, laughed at on signing, is now "hit a vein of form," which is the sort of sentence United rooms hate reading aloud.

MinaFootball: last game in the dugout?

MinaFootball framed kick-off as a career hinge. "This could be Michael Carrick's last game in the dugout for Manchester United as they welcome Aston Villa." Underneath: "Manchester United need to ensure that they do not find themselves in the relegation area." Emery's new extended deal at Villa, he says, ends the poaching chat. "I think that has well and truly put the rumors to bed." His expected back line leans on Maguire, Heaven and Yoro. Roma is fuel, not a finish line.

UTV: when Emery leaves, so does the football

UTV opened with a line aimed at the other timeline. "When Emery leaves you, so does the football." Structure, not nostalgia. Emery's methods "allow players to flourish," and Sunday is a chance to "really dominate at Old Trafford," including exposing a midfield that looks set to include Youri Tielemans against his old club. "It's there, Villa. The performance is there. Just turn up and don't allow any occasion or momentum to get the better of you."

The Villa Park Podcast: desperate for Old Trafford

The Villa Park Podcast called it Super Sunday and meant the mood. "Aston Villa supporters, players, management will be absolutely desperate to win for many, many, many reasons." They know the ground. "As Villa fans we know that it's a ground that we have struggled to get three points." United's Roma night "will give them a bit of heart" and also "make you scratch your head." Desperation, for once, is the plan.

The argument

United's rooms treat Sunday as a referendum with a midweek alibi attached. Win and Roma was a launch. Draw and Carrick limps into the break. Lose and the board owns the international window. Villa's rooms treat the same ninety minutes as unfinished business at a ground that keeps refusing them, with Emery's structure as the visiting argument. One side is trying not to forget a comeback. The other is trying not to remember how often Old Trafford sent them home empty.
