Bournemouth beat Manchester United 3-0 in the Premier League at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon. Rayan volleyed in at the far post on 38 minutes, Marcus Tavernier added a second after Leny Yoro slipped on 43, and Evanilson rounded Senne Lammens for the third on 71. Eight fan YouTubers watched it so you don't have to.
Michael Carrick dropped his captain, Bruno Fernandes, and United got worse anyway. They are now eight games without a win, 16th and one point above the drop zone, per Sky Sports. Fernandes never left the bench. Most of the United rooms think the manager won't be on it much longer either.
Michael Carrick: the Bruno call that changed nothing
SaeedTV didn't waste time: "Relegation's real." In case you missed it, he says it again: "relegation is real." On dropping Fernandes: "Could that spark a team reaction? Zero." He also wants Carrick to walk before he's pushed: "Michael Carrick, I'm pleading with you. Just leave."
Webby & O'Neill were promised a response to the 4-1 at Como and got the opposite: "We got absolutely nothing. We was humiliated." They think the half-time change was too timid, with Matheus Cunha on for Youri Tielemans and Fernandes left sitting there, and say it "humiliated Bruno in front of the world." Carrick will need a bigger tactics board.
Rayan, Tavernier and Evanilson: three goals, all avoidable
BBC Sport's verdict was that all three goals were "easily avoidable". FlyingPigUnited was less diplomatic. He called the defending for the second "another bottle job at the back" and shouted that Lammens had been "rounded like his name is Andre Onana" for the third. He then broke a plate. A small one, he says. It's that sort of season.
RedUnitedTV puts it down to "sloppy mistakes, giving the ball directly back to the opposition." The verdict on Carrick is shorter: "Sack him today."
Bournemouth: back-to-back 3-0s
Over on the south coast, it's all smiles. Marco Rose's side have now beaten AC Milan 3-0 in the Europa League and United 3-0 at Old Trafford in the same week. Back of the Net say "it should have been more" and give James Hill the plaudits: "He was an absolute wall." They also have a theory: "You don't want to play Bournemouth if you're flat because we will run." The one grumble is that today's coverage will all be about United. They're right.
Richard Morse is "absolutely ecstatic" and keeps it simple: "We taught them how it's done." BBC Sport notes it's the fourth home league game in a row against Bournemouth in which United have conceded three or more and failed to win. The Cherries treat the place like a holiday let.
Old Trafford: songs for Carrick, boos for the players
The crowd sang Carrick's name as he did a lap at full time, then booed the players once he'd gone down the tunnel. The United Stand fans forum calls itself "the therapy forum", and one panellist says he felt "so sorry" for Carrick walking off, while still thinking he's "out of his depth."
Even the rivals turned up. MatisseArmani, still smarting from Chelsea's defeat to Spurs, titles his video "Welcome Back To The MUD!" and calls Carrick "a dead man walking." Misery loves company.
The argument: sack the manager or sack everyone?
The rooms agree Carrick is probably finished. They don't agree on who's to blame. SaeedTV says "we know who the problem are" and points upstairs: "Get these owners out." Webby & O'Neill say it "starts at the top with Ratcliffe" but that "these players today, it falls on them." The United Stand panel worries there's no obvious replacement anyway.
Carrick told Sky Sports he doesn't know "what's next", and insisted the lap of the pitch "wasn't a farewell from me." The United rooms are already writing the farewell for him.
