Spurs and Crystal Palace YouTubers react to a 2-0 at Tottenham

Three league wins in a row for the first time since February 2025, a debut that broke the Spurs internet, and a striker conversation that refuses to die. Palace, meanwhile, are asking about Sage.

Spurs and Crystal Palace YouTubers react to a 2-0 at Tottenham

Spurs beat ten-man Crystal Palace 2-0 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday evening, and the fan YouTubers have had to sit with a strange feeling: three Premier League wins in a row, the first since February 2025. Jean-Philippe Mateta was sent off after a VAR review on 13 minutes for his challenge on Micky van de Ven, Archie Gray headed in Mohammed Kudus's corner on 25, and Jan Paul van Hecke nodded the second from the floor on 73 after Dean Henderson had pushed his first header onto the bar. Spurs are eighth. Palace are in the bottom three, and Pierre Sage is back on the clock.

Spurs: 616 days, and nobody quite trusts it

WeAreTottenhamTV called 2-0 in their preview and have earned the lap of honour. Outside the ground the host calls Mateta's tackle "disgusting", then gets on with the football: Tel "running rings" early, Fernandes and Tonali "bossing it", and a result that "could have easily been six or seven" if Henderson hadn't had the night of his life. He admits Spurs struggled to break down a side with every man behind the ball. He is delighted anyway.

Mr Box Office TV with alex thfc is the room refusing to join the parade. The curse is broken, he says, "but did that convince you Spurs fans? It surely didn't do me." His charge sheet: the opener came from a corner, only set pieces really looked like scoring, Palace were still dangerous on the counter, Solanke doing "absolutely nothing again", and Sky naming Kudus player of the match, which confused him.

Spurs: the number nine problem won't go away

DANalyst put the numbers on it before the guests had even sat down: 34 shots, nine on target, five big chances, and both goals from defenders. Three wins, four unbeaten, up to eighth, all welcome. But nine games in, the forwards have barely a goal between them, and the panel spends a long night on it.

Married To Tottenham open with the sentence every Spurs fan was thinking: "Only at Spurs could we win three in a row and still be talking about what we still need." One half of the couple says the team has clicked under De Zerbi; the other says it hasn't, because there's no number nine to get them out of a hole. Eighteen years of marriage, and still no agreement on Solanke.

De Zerbi, for his part, wanted Spurs to be "more nasty" in front of goal and called Tonali "unbelievable". Nobody in these rooms argued with either.

Luca Williams-Barnett: ten minutes and a new hero

The 18-year-old came on in the 88th minute for his Premier League debut, beat three Palace players and laid it on a plate for Kudus, who put it wide. HenryTalksTottenham knows he'll be accused of overreacting to tired legs and does it anyway: give this kid consistent minutes and "we have got a hell of a player on our hands". He also notes, with some glee, that van Hecke is now Spurs' top scorer.

Crystal Palace: is this the end for Sage?

Eagle-Eyed Football went to the game, and the vlog's title asks the question out loud: "Is this the end for Sage?" There are no captions on this one yet, so no quotes from us. The facts don't help him: Mateta's red, a third straight league defeat, the bottom three, and Liverpool at home next.

The argument: proper progress or a ten-man asterisk?

Spurs rooms want to believe and keep finding reasons not to. Palace rooms would settle for a striker who stays on the pitch and a manager who sees December. Both sides agree on one thing: 34 shots against ten men should have finished with more than two goals, and the man in the Spurs number nine shirt has heard all about it.
