Sunderland YouTubers react to a 1-1 draw at Lech Poznań

Twenty-five shots, one goal and a long trip home. The Sunderland rooms can't agree whether Poznań was a decent away point or a defeat in disguise.

Sunderland YouTubers react to a 1-1 draw at Lech Poznań

Sunderland drew 1-1 at Lech Poznań in the Europa League on Thursday night, and the fan YouTubers came away sounding like they'd lost. Timur Tutierov headed in Nilson Angulo's cross inside two minutes, his first goal for the club. Then came 25 shots, 11 on target, a post, and nothing else. Lech substitute Bengtsson equalised from a corner knock-down with 20 minutes left.

Seven points from three games is a fine European record. It's harder to enjoy when you're bottom of the Premier League and Leeds are coming on Sunday.

Only Fools and Themadmistake: "This feels like a defeat"

Only Fools and SAFC filmed the whole thing from the sofa, and you can hear the patience drain away. At 1-0 it's "chance after chance after chance". By the equaliser it's "absolutely ridiculous", and by stoppage time: "This feels like a defeat. Honestly, it really does." The verdict is that Sunderland "should be winning about 9-1", and that it doesn't matter who you're playing: "If you don't take your chances, you get punished."

Themadmistake is "pretty disappointed to be fair". He expected three or four in the first half once the early goal went in, reckons the half-time score "should have been four or five", and lands on the bigger problem: "We must be the only team in the Premier League not to have a striker."

Angulo good, Fofana's finishing not

Everyone agrees on Angulo. Themadmistake makes him man of the match, and Black Cats TV says he spent the first half "torturing their left back", then won the ball back for the goal and put it on Tutierov's head. Black Cats TV is the calmest room here. It called a draw beforehand, and points out that seven points from nine is "still very positive".

Malick Fofana gets it from all sides. Only Fools wants someone to tell them he's worth "30 million quid", and GILESY AND STEVE says he's "lacking so much confidence in front of goal", skewing chances high and wide or rolling them to the keeper.

Le Bris's subs: did they kill it?

GILESY AND STEVE opens with "that's what happens when you didn't finish your dinner" and has a clear culprit: "The substitutes killed it for me." In this telling, Sunderland slowed and sat deeper after Régis Le Bris's hour-mark changes, and Lech grew into it. Black Cats TV has a smaller gripe. Taking Tutierov off late "felt a bit like are you shutting up shop here?" GILESY AND STEVE's man of the match is Robin Roefs, for an early double save that was "absolutely tremendous". It also notes the strange table maths: Sunderland were briefly top of the Europa League while sitting bottom of the Premier League.

Connor Bromley and Taff: thrown out mid-row in Poznań

Connor Bromley and Taff recorded outside the ground and got moved on by security halfway through an argument. Connor saw what he wanted: wingers supported, Angulo great, "we are doing the things we wanted them to do". Taff saw "same old Sunderland": lots of possession, no second goal, and chances given away at the other end. He doesn't think you can watch that "and go into the Leeds game at the weekend and have hope".

Michael Bowers calls it "a very very mixed bag". He doesn't think Sunderland dominated as much as some claim, and says they got "carved open too easily" at times. He's doing the table maths too. He thinks 10 more points from the last five games should be enough for the top eight, but notes there's still no away clean sheet in any competition this season.

The argument: good point or warning sign?

Nobody's arguing about the Europa League table, which is fine. The argument is about what Thursday says for Sunday. Connor and Black Cats TV see a pressing, attacking side that finally looked like itself again. Taff, Themadmistake and Michael Bowers see the same flaws that put them bottom of the league: no striker, poor finishing, and goals given away. Leeds will settle it one way or the other.
